How PMI organizes Events, Markets, and Aggregates

Prediction Markets Insights (PMI) is a research catalog of prediction-market questions. Platforms such as Polymarket or Kalshi list Contracts—tradable propositions with their own rules and deadlines. PMI does not replace those venues. It organizes related Contracts so you can research one real-world question in one place.

Event

An Event is one real-world prediction question (for example, who becomes Israel’s next prime minister, or whether a rate decision lands a certain way). Every Market on that Event is a proposition about the same question. An Event can hold one Market or many.

Use the Event page for the shared topic: briefing, related Markets, and reviewed Event Updates (source-backed developments that can change how you read the question).

Market

A Market is the public research unit on PMI. It is either:

  • one standalone Contract (a single yes/no or similar listing), or
  • one reviewed Aggregate Market that groups several Contracts or outcomes under one canonical question.

Membership in an Aggregate does not mean those Contracts are economically the same. Each Contract keeps its own platform rules, resolution source, and deadline.

Aggregate Markets: race and ladder

PMI uses two Aggregate shapes:

  • Race Aggregate — Selections are mutually exclusive answers to one settlement (for example, candidates in one election).
  • Ladder Aggregate — Selections are deadline or threshold variants of the same question (for example, “by date X” rungs).

The Aggregate Market page is the research hub for that book. Child Contracts may still exist as Selections; the hub is where the board is meant to be read together.

What PMI does not do (yet)

PMI does not merge quotes across platforms into one “combined” price. Dual-listed twins stay separate Markets. A relationship between Markets (when reviewed) explains how they relate; it does not pool odds. When you see prices on PMI, treat them as research snapshots from the listed venue—not a signal that PMI is the trading venue.

Where to go next

Browse the Events catalog for published questions, open an Event for the topic brief and Updates, then open a Market or Aggregate hub for the board, chart, and key terms.

Example Events to inspect: US Fed rate cuts 2026, Brazil presidential election 2026, and US Clarity Act.

FAQ

Is an Event the same as a Market?
No. An Event is the real-world question. A Market is a platform listing (standalone or aggregate) about that question.
Does grouping Contracts mean their prices are comparable?
No. Aggregate membership is organizational. Each Contract keeps its own rules and deadline; PMI does not pool prices.
What is the difference between a race and a ladder?
A race groups mutually exclusive answers to one settlement. A ladder groups deadline or threshold variants of the same question.
Can I trade on PMI?
No. PMI is a research catalog. Trading happens on the listed platforms under their own terms.
Why do two Markets on the same Event look similar?
Platforms often list related Contracts with different wording, deadlines, or resolution sources. PMI keeps them distinct so those differences stay visible.
